Vocations

God continues to call courageous young women into a life of deep love, prayer, and service. The Carmelite vocation is both contemplative and apostolic, inviting you into an intimate friendship with Christ that overflows into loving mission for the Church and the world. Rooted in prayer, community, and trust in God, Carmel forms hearts that listen deeply and serve generously, offering their lives as a living witness of hope and love.

Holy Eucharist: A Touch of Love!

First, I remember attending Adoration as a young student in Catholic school. I was struck by the silence and the mystery—the clouds of incense carrying our prayers heavenward, the Latin chant, the bells and blessings, and the wonder of God made present to a child’s heart. As I grew, my journey continued into Adoration at Catholic teen conferences, where vibrant praise and worship filled vast halls crowded with thousands of young people. The energy of those moments captivated me—the pulse of life, the joy, and the growing urgency to discern God’s call.

Then came the next movement of my life: Adoration as a young adult. I sought retreats and quiet chapels where I could encounter Jesus face to face and ask Him where He was calling me. These were Adorations marked by tears, doubts, and questions—by the struggle to trust God’s plan. They were Adorations of thirsting for God, of seeking Him in the night. The Holy Eucharist became the place of both inspiration and discernment, the heart from which my vocation was born.

Sr. Deanna Therese is our first vocation from the United States. She is currently preparing for her final vows. Previously, she taught middle school religion in the Diocese of Gary, Indiana, High School English and Spanish, and she continues to serve as a catechist and retreat leader for the Syro-Malabar Diocese.
